The World of Reed Family Linens

Paradise Lost & Found

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed an exclusive representative for sales of Reed Family Linens products to hotels and spas in Sri Lanka, the Seychelles and the Maldives. We are confident that we can develop our business in this region with the exclusive members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group and other aspiring properties. If you would like to contact our representative, then please email us at mreed@reedfamilylinen.com

Plain or Satin Weave ?

In response to ever increasing questions about thread counts, weaves and their significance in relation to bed linen fabrics, we have produced a dedicated leaflet which explains the processes involved. We hope that this document may help to inform and educate our clients so that they appreciate the difference between plain & satin weaves, and high thread counts & densities of intersections. For a copy of this please email us at sales@reedfamilylinen.com

Temptation in Taiwan

Reed Family Linens are delighted to have renewed their trading links with Taiwan and their prior distributor in this country. Reed products first appeared on sale in Taipei in 1987, but have been off the shelves for the past seven years as recession caused consumer spending to dip. We are now working to re-establish the brand in a central Taipei city shopping location in time for Chinese New year 2010.

Southern African Indaba

Reed Family Linens participated in the recent two day Chrysalis Linens sales conference (“Indaba” is the Zulu word for a meeting) held at the five star Michaelangelo Hotel in Johannesburg.  Our brand history, provenance and product range were presented to delegates from around Southern Africa by Mark & Karen Reed in a three hour presentation. After a lecture on thread counts and weave constructions, all attendees were asked to perform the ‘Gus Oser’ test with encouraging results. This simple exercise to help understand thread counts and their relevance in bed sheeting fabrics was created by Mr Peter Reed in memory of Gus Oser of E Braun & Co, the exclusive linen store with branches on Park Avenue (NY) and now Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. If any client would like to receive a Gus Oser test kit, then please contact us on sales@reedfamilylinen.com
