The World of Reed Family Linens

Alchemy in the Winelands

Reed Family Linens are delighted to have been selected as the leading linen brand in the new “The Alchemist” luxury retail outlet in Franschhoek alongside Swarovski and other leading names. The Hugenots first began wine making in this magical valley in 1688, and it is now home to many exclusive and discerning European ‘swallows’ who make it their home in the African summer months.

World Cotton Prices
As the world recession continues to affect commodity prices in all sectors, cotton has been become another victim of the reduced global demand. We are expecting a softening of prices as the early 2010 harvests come onto the market and envisage minimal prices increases next year, and some price reductions in the competitive hospitality market.

Table Linen
Reed Family Linen now offer a classic range of placemats, napkins and table cloths in a heavy weight but easily laundered linen union fabric. All items have traditional hem stitching, and our standard napkin size is 22” (55cms) with a rich 2” (5cms) hem.

Linen with Chips!

After three years of development, Reed Family Linens is pleased to announce the launch of our unique Linen Inventory Management Accounting System which will now be available worldwide from January 2010. All RFL linens for hospitality will be supplied with microchips sewn into each piece from early next year. This RFID technology enables the LIMAS software system in a hotel to control and monitor all linen inventories throughout their lifespan.

A key element of the LIMAS reporting system is the calculation of ‘CPW’ Indices (Cost per wash) for all items and we are confident that RFL products will deliver lower CPW’s than all our major competitors – showing that quality and price are not necessarily incompatible.

For more information about how LIMAS can save your hotel money (over $18,000 per annum for a typical 200 room property) contact us on sales@limas.uk.com.
